The namesake of Tompkins Tennis, Richard has over 30 years of experience developing high-level competitive juniors. In the past 15 years, he's produced over 30 local juniors who have achieved a top ten national ranking. Richard has also coached several players at the junior and adult grand slams!
There are few coaches who can match Richard’s energy or intensity levels on the court, and he has a gift for transferring those same traits to the students who work with him.
Andrei serves as regional tennis director for Tompkins Tennis having been with our academy for over 13 years. He was born and raised in Romania where he ranked as high as #2 nationally. After moving to the US he competed successfully in the 18 and under division.
Andrei specializes in developing top nationally ranked juniors, and is currently coaching some of the top students at Tompkins Tennis.
Jari enjoyed a very successful college career, playing on a full scholarship at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and leading her team to the National Championships 4 years in a row. While there, she completed her degree in International Business. As a junior, she was ranked in the top 10 nationally in her home country of Slovakia.
Jari specializes in working to identify and nurture young talent, helping our students progress from red to yellow ball. We are extremely fortunate to have Jari with us, setting a solid foundation for players as they enter into competition!
Vishu Prasad is an Indian born tennis player hailing from New Delhi, India. Vishu secured the Bronze Medal in the Junior Davis Cup (U-16) Asia/Oceania at Incheon, Korea and also represented India at the World Junior Davis Cup in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Vishu received the Rajiv Gandhi State Award by the Chief Minister of New Delhi. He also secured a Gold Medal in the Asian Junior (U-14) Championship at Doha, Qatar. Vishu was ranked #2 in India (Boys 14s) and #1 (Boys 16s). Vishu played Division 1 college tennis at Jackson State University and represented the school at NCAA top 64 brackets for 2016/17. He is currently ranked 15 in USTA Men's tennis.
Vishu specializes in high performance coaching for juniors and also adult lessons.
Vishu has a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Master of Science- Information Technology.
Sandy Tompkins is responsible for the academy's fitness and strength programs. She is a certified Personal Trainer, Sports Nutrition Certified, as well as TRX-certified. Sandy works one-on-one with juniors and adults in developing their off-court fitness programs. Specializing in tennis specific conditioning, Sandy has also worked as a fitness trainer with both junior and professional tennis players competing in college and grand slams.
Ray came to Tompkins Tennis with an impressive playing resume as one of the top competitors on the Chinese national team. He has been working with top level juniors for over 15 years, specializing in players entering into tournament competition.
Marta comes to us from the John McEnroe Academy in New York where she coached for the past four years. She enjoys working with players of all ages and skill levels from our Future Slammers class to Adult Clinics.
Marta has had an impressive career, earning 7 WTA points while still a junior, earning a ranking of 1047 in the world! With a top 10 junior ranking in Spain she earned a scholarship to the University of Memphis, where she majored in sports science and health performance. Marta is an excellent addition to our team providing valuable insight for any players looking to earn college scholarships or play on tour.

Gabriel is a native of Santiago, Chile. He was top nationally ranked in juniors and played Division 1 college tennis. Gabriel also competed at the professional level. As a coach, Aboitiz worked with national champions in Chile while also developing national juniors at the Tompkins Tennis Academy.
Other career highlights include being a travel coach for Christian Garin (ATP ranking 22) and captaining the Junior Davis Cup for Chile in 2018 and 2019. He was ranked top 8 nationally in Chile (18's Division) and competed in Division I at Lamar University.
Gabriel is excited to continue his career of developing top juniors for Tompkins Tennis!
Roma is one of the most experienced coaches at Tompkins, having been with the academy since 2009. He has equally impressive playing and coaching resumes, having been the national champion in his home country of the Republic of Georgia, as well as assistant coach at the University of Montana.
Born in Washington, Jake has competed and coached both internationally as well as all over the United States. His tennis career started as a highly ranked junior before continuing his success into the men’s open division as well as serving as a hitting partner for touring ATP players. Jake was the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at the University of Puget Sound while also establishing and operating the Hobaugh Tennis Academy.
He has spent the last 10 years developing in high performance junior players who have collectively achieved 6 gold balls, qualified for the US Open Junior Boys Qualifying and Main Draws as well as scholarships to 8 different universities. Jake is equally comfortable with adult clients with years of experience in adult programming and leagues.
Pablo comes to us from the John McEnroe Academy in New York where he coached for the past four years. Prior to McEnroe, Pablo played Division 1 tennis for the University at Buffalo, earning his Bachelor’s degree in communications. He played 1 and 2 singles and doubles for the team, was 1st team All-Conference twice, and awarded the Sportmanship Player of the Year in the MAC conference. As a captain, Pablo helped his team win the MAC tournament for the first time in program history, named MVP of the conference tournament and finals in 2015.
Pablo has coached some of the top ranked juniors in Spain, having had a successful junior career of his own. He was ranked #13 in the nation and top 3 in Madrid in the 18u division. We are incredibly happy to have Pablo with us as both a sparring partner and coach for our students!
Kiril grew up in New Zealand and was ranked Top 2 in the country for under 12's, 14's, 16's and 18's divisions. Kiril went on to reach top 50 in the world in under 18's juniors on the ITF circuit and also attained an ATP ranking.
Kiril competed for the University of Tennessee where he clinched every match to get the team to the SEC final and also achieved an All American academic award.
Kiril achieved success managing 12 tennis clubs around the country and then went on to become one of the tennis directors at the John McEnroe Academy in Manhatten and the Hamptons.
